ICI-Iligan inspired by a small child

Lyca Gairanod of Team Sarah Geronimo was hailed as the first “The Voice Kids” Philippines grand champion on July 27, 2014.  Lyca’s family was very emotional upon hearing the announcement. Coach Sarah said, “That’s my superstar, Lyca! Parang concert mo!  Masayang masaya ako na ako’y umikot para sa ‘yo!”  Coach Sarah gave her full support for Darren and Lyca.  It’s not easy for the coach because she mentored both of them.

But in the end still the people diced who will be the winner and Lyca Gairanod did it.  She made the Filipinos feel her music and let them know who she is.  While Darren Espanto of Team Sarah, was the first runner-up followed by Team Bamboo’s bet, Juan Karlos Labajo, ànd Darlene Vibares of Team Lea.  Lyca showed to us that poverty is not a hindrance in reaching our dreams.

As a student, we are fortunate that we have opportunity to be in school as our way of finding our goals in life.  We should learn to use our resources and chances in achieving something better in the future.  If Lyca uses her talent, we can use our education and knowledge to reach a destination of success.  For sure, we have different road to take but we should take ours in struggle and hardship maybe.  In reaching our dreams fly like an eagle, dream as high as the sky and shine like the sunshine.
