ICI-Iligan Celebrates World Teachers Day

“Ideal teachers are those who use themselves as bridges over which they invite their students to cross, then having facilitated their crossing, joyfully collapse, encouraging them to create bridges of their own”

– – Nikos Kazantakis

Today, October 5 is World Teachers Day; a day which reminds us that teaching is the greatest profession in the world. We honor the people who dedicate themselves in making a difference in our lives and helping us mold ourselves to become what we are today.
To celebrate this glorious day, the ICI-Iligan Student Body Organization (SBO) in cooperation with The Ping organized a mini-event which aims to commemorate the teachers here in ICI. SBO and Ping members visit each ICI building to give certificates of appreciation and flowers to instructors from different departments and of course, to greet them “Happy Teachers Day!”
Recipients of the gifts feel glad that their patience and hard work are recognized and observed. In addition, SBO and Ping members also sang songs to serenade their favorite teacher, making the whole activity even better.
World Teachers Day in ICI is surely a memorable one this year. Giving value to teachers worldwide is something all of us should do for if not because them, we might be strayed individuals with no means of realizing our dreams.
