demo on how to use the fire extinguisher

Seminar is a conference or other meeting for discussion or training wherein a class at a college or university in which topics will be discussed by a teacher and a small group of students.

When we attend in a meeting or seminar, sometimes we experience a long discussion about a certain subject which basically doesn’t interest us, most especially if we were just required to attend. Students tend to hate those long, boring speeches delivered and have the tendency to not having their attention to the speaker and break the rule of effective listening.

Last July 10, 2015, Friday, started from 8am to 12nn, we had our Seminar 1(please add the descriptive title if necessary). The first speaker discussed about Fire Safety and how to prevent fire in a community, he is a professional fire fighter in the Bureau of Fire Protection and has been handling Fire Safety Seminars in a long time. The speaker always encourages student participation in order to have their attention. He explains everything in a simple and in jokingly manner but informative as well and the lecture room is always in uproar when he cracks a joke. We ended the fire safety seminar by an actual demonstration on how to properly use a fire extinguisher whenever there is an emergency.

The second speaker enlightened us with some First Aid Seminar on basic skills on how to use our knowledge on First Aid whenever there is an emergency situation. He is a Registered Nurse and an instructor of ICI – Iligan on Health Care Department. The same with the first speaker he encourages student participation to gain the attention of the students. He explains every topic thoroughly and emphasizes the important details to be remembered when in an emergency condition. He instructed an actual demonstration of Heimlich Maneuver, Mouth-to-Mouth Resuscitation and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation.

The seminar ended with the students in happy mood and an information overload of knowledge about Fire Safety and First Aid.
