ICI HRM & Culinary Arts Department amazed spectators during the Grand Launching of Diyandi Festival

Iligan City’s most-anticipated annual event, the Diyandi Festival kicked-off last September 1, 2012 at the Public Plaza from 10 A:M to 6 P:M. The Grand Launching event with its theme: “Like Iligan” was witnessed by hundreds of Iliganons as well as spectators from neighboring towns.

The HRM & Culinary Arts Department of ICI-Iligan presented a small culinary show and placed a booth to entertain the crowd and promote ICI itself. Headed by two of the department’s dynamic instructors, Chef Roseller Fiel and Sir Leo Dizon, a Cooking Demo sponsored by Petronas Gas was conducted for everyone’s amusement. The activity attracted many people from different walks of life who wanted to witness how sumptuous and delicious meals are made and prepared.

 

Selected HRM and Culinary Arts students also showed their skills in Cupcake Decorating as well as Fruit and Vegetable Carving which were supervised Ma’am Analy Jumamil and Ma’am Donna Key Destura. Beautifully-carved fruits and vegetables were displayed at the booth’s table for people to see and take pictures of. At the stage, Sir Dexter Panen and two of his finest students amazed everyone with their Flair Bartending skills which made the whole event more fun.

 

ICI-Iligan Music Guild also presented a short presentation number. Songs like Set Fire to the Rain, We Found Love, and Domino were performed by the members. Afterwards, ICI-Iligan Marketing Officer, Mr. Jerrum Suaring stepped to the stage to promote the institution’s new courses; Call Center Training and Medical Transcription. Brochures and flyers were also given away to random people to make them more informed about ICI’s technical courses.

The Grand Launching of Diyandi Festival was made even more fun and entertaining all thanks to the effort of ICI faculty members and students. This year’s festival will surely be more grandiose than ever and ICI is always ready to partake in any kind of event.
