A successful gift giving was again held at Kalye Apeke, Bugo Cagayan de Oro City last December 19 2011 with this theme “ROCK: Reaching Out Christmas to Kids.” The purpose of the event was to share joy to kids this Christmas. And this was made possible by the ICI-CDO faculty and staff.
Every December, ICI-CDO always aiming people to make them more special in this special holiday. In Mindanao, Cagayan de Oro is on the list of the most populated city. This include branches, Macasandig, Cugman, Agusan, Tablon especially Bugo. A place in Bugo so called “Kalye Apeke” is really a good example for a most populated zone here in Bugo, and mostly kids has a larger number in population.
The ROCK was proposed by the Student Body Organization of ICI-CDO that every student will be giving a chance to give a gift, toy, clothes, food or anything that will fit the needs of kids this Christmas. And by this, the event was made evenly alluring.
When the program started, kids were in there seat, excited to witness the surprise of ICI-CDO to them. Of Course the ICI-CDO faculty and staff wasn’t just let the kids bored listening to the emcee’s talking but a game leaded by Mr. Stain Pelayo called “Hep-hep Hurray” made the kids energetically happy. And prizes were given to those who won. After the breathtaking game, a special number of the PING news writer in ICI-CDO, Dessie Malyn Biscayno entertained the kids singing a song “Sa Iyo” by Sarah Geronimo. Kids were inspired and shared their talents. A story was told by Ms. Miriam Mejias, a story about the birth of Jesus Christ. Kids were listening attentively to Maam Miriam. Delicious food were given to kids and parents who attended the event.
It turned out to be another successful event of this year, thanks to the help of of our active advisers, Mr. Josua Saring as the SBO adviser and Mr. Michael Maestrado as the Ping Adviser and to the ICI-CDO Academic head, Ms. Miriam Mejias.
