Iligan Computer Institute-CDO celebrated its Students Christmas Party at Chali Beach and Resort, Cugman, Cagayan de Oro City last December 11, 2011 with the theme: “Christmas, Celebrating a Whole Year of Blessings”. The faculty and staff as well as the students looked magnificent with their casual attire. Even though the program started late, it was indeed one of the most successful events of the school.
As the ICI President, Mr. Ladislao C. Tabanao arrived; He was given the floor to address his message. The President delivered his message in a nice manner together with jokes. The highlight of the event was the Caroling Contest. The Caroling Contest had two group entries; the afternoon class schedule of Information Technology A1-N and the mixed morning classes of Information Technology M1-O and Visual Graphic Design M1-O. Each contest had its respective winners and losers. In the end, the mixed classes of ITM1-O and VGDM1-O won the contest.
The room then fell silent as the highly respected Academic Head, Ms. Miriam Mejias conducted the “Thank You Moment”. The students, as well as the staff, were given a chance to give thanks to the people they wanted to. The event was livened up even further thanks to the punch lines delivered during dinner by the emcee, Mr. William Bautista, the English instructor of ICI-CDO. The students were amazed by the ICI talents and a dance number presented by the ICI Dance Troupe together with their adviser, Mr. Franklin Ramos.
The Lady and Man of the Night caught the attention of the Judges with their attires were crowned and given their awards. The Lady of the Night was Gail Mahomot, an Information Technology Student while the title of Man of the Night was crowned to a Computer Hardware Servicing Student.
Naturally, a Christmas Party would not be complete without “Exchange Gifts”. Students who brought their gifts participated in the activity. The students enjoyed and were happy of what they got. The event was then formally ended with some closing remarks from the Academic Head, Ms. Miriam Mejias who gave thanks to the people behind the success of the event. After the program was concluded, students stayed behind for disco dancing up until 10 o’clock. – PeJ
