ICI Conducted 3rd Alegre Culinary Competition

ICI’s Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) Department recently conducted its annual event the 3rd Alegre Culinary Competition with the theme: “Istilong Pinoy” last March 28, 2012 from 8am to 7pm at the City Plaza. The said event is organized to showcase the five trade areas of HRM course which include; Commercial Cooking, Bartending, Baking and Pastries, Fruit and Beverage Service and Housekeeping.

HRM students compete in various competitions like Flower Arrangement, Fruit and Vegetable Carving, Table Setting, Flair Bartending and Table Skirting. The organizers invited judges from Iligan City N ational High School (ICNHS), St. Michael’s College, STI and other educational institutions here in Iligan City. Spectators were entertained by the amazing performances displayed on that day.


The winners will represent ICI in the upcoming Kumbira in Cagayan de Oro City anytime this year. The day ended with great smiles and pride because not only they showed everyone how skilled they are but also proved to themselves that they are competent enough to use their skills towards reaching their dreams.

ICI-CDO:Tour Cebu

All ICI-CDO students who are about to graduate and finding an unforgettable way to partially seal their training from ICI before graduating was given a chance to signed up for the Cebu tour. Last March 07-10, students experienced the memorable things then looking  back  the happy memories they’ve created inside the institute, also they’re glad to got the chance the meeting ICI-Iligan students.

There are many activities   held during the tour like, visiting the different landmarks at Cebu. Opportunities also to students came many of those employers will be their, looking for future employees within their companies maybe adding another batch of successful hopefuls. The said tour package has luxury full blast meal filling their hungry stomachs from exploring the wonderful sceneries of Cebu City, and those with a healthy appetite were truly satisfied.

Hotel was provided to students during their stay at Cebu, insuring them the comfort and safety accompanied by the ICI-CDO Guidance Counselor, Mrs. Hilda Lacanaria Camomot and Stain dela Rosa Pelayo.

ICI-Iligan SBO Conducts Students’ Choice Award Voting for Best Educator

“Teaching is a profession that teaches all the other professions”. A profession which has the worst paid but the best rewarded vocation. To recognize the good performance and honor the faculty of ICI-Iligan for their hard work and dedication in teaching, the Student Body Organization (SBO) is conducting a Students’ Choice Award voting to Instructors from six departments namely; Engineering, Multimedia, Healthcare, HRM, Programming and Related Subjects Department. Who will be the chosen teacher as the best educator and best mentor in each department based on the votes they gain from the students will be awarded and recognized.

SBO Officers are roaming around ICI premises to let the students cast their votes through a voting slip. Voting begins from February 27 until March 2, 2012.

So don’t hesitate to participate. Show how much you value your instructor thru voting wisely!

ICI-CDO Celebrates Month of Hearts

For this month’s celebration, ICI-CDO celebrates its Valentine’s Day last February 16, 2012 held at Bugo gymnasium Cagayan de Oro City, with the theme; “How Sweet it is to be Loved by You.” And it was participated by different big names in Cagayan de Oro City.

The event starts with an amusing message and inspirational advice given by Pastor Rolando Olivarez. Around the corner, minor and major activities such like Marriage booth, Blind Dates, Free Kiss & Hugs, Handcuffs, Henna Tattoos, Best Pick-up Lines and a lot of activities were there to let students participate and enjoy the program. The activities were handled by the ICI-CDO’s faculty and staff.

As a combine forces of ICI-CDO faculty and staff, the search for Ms. Valentine outshines most on the event and this include the special participation of popular bands like Barcelon, Joe d’ Farmer, Band Profile, the very owned Music Guild Band, the golden voices of the ICI Sessionista’s and the Harana Groups, this include the Mis.Or. Pride Rapper, participation of different dance troupes here in CDO including, Footprints, Extreme Exposure, and the pride of ICI-CDO the Art Chemist and ICI Groovers.

While the activities on going, presentation of each club made the event perfectly fit to student’s entertainment needs. ICI-Firefox performed an interpretative song number with Mrs. Rio F. Tabanao as well as the Computer Hardware Band, 2D Animation Band and Multimedia Club Band.

The event ended up with a video clip made by the Multimedia Club entitled “Love Language” also a theme based title Video Clip made by The Ping Photo journalists, Mark Daniel Banaynal.

With the great effort of the event chairman, Mr. Michael A. Maestrado, the Ping and Multimedia Club adviser, the event were made successfully along with the faculty and staff of ICI-CDO. -SPELL

Ready, Set, Go for ICI Hearts Race

This Valentine’s season, ICI will give a treat to its students by letting them compete in a race of love. The ICI Hearts Race will be this February 13, 2012 at Annex 1 Bldg from 3 pm to 5 pm. It is a pre-Valentine’s Day activity organized by the Student Body Organization to make the month of hearts more memorable for every ICI’an.

Participants should join as a pair of male and female. This race is not only for couples as friends or classmates can also join. The starting point of the race will be from Annex 1 and will go on to other ICI buildings namely: Annex 2, ICI Main Bldg. and Annex 3. Each pair will have to go back to Annex 1 to finish the race. First 5 pairs to reach the finish line will win a dinner date at Annex 3. Freebies and other prizes are also up for grabs.

Those who wish to participate need to approach Ma’am Lovely Monte or any SBO member so that they can be included in the list of participants.

The SBO also made a booth called SBO Express with Valentine’s items such as flowers, romantic cards and chocolates for those who wish to express their feelings for someone. The delivery service is free for those who wish to give their gifts through another person.
