Last November 21 to 26, 2017, ICI – Iligan joined the 15thIligan City Computing Fair (ICCF) with a theme “Collaboration and Innovation for Inclusive Growth.”;  the said event was held in different locations in Iligan City. The 6-day ICCF event launched with a two-day ICT Job Fair and ICT Exhibit Fair on November 21 to November 22, 2017 at Robinson’s Place, Iligan.  The participants of the ICT Exhibit Fair were not only from our local ICT institutions or homegrown BPOs, but also companies from Cagayan de Oro City and Zamboanga City.  Likewise, the employers or the hiring agencies of the ICT Job Fair were from a well-known call-centers/BPOs from BGC, Taguig City, Cebu City, and Cagayan de Oro City.

The final round of the Electronic Sports (DOTA) Competition was held at Robinson’s Iligan on November 25, 2017, and an amazing crowd gathered watching and cheering for the gamers. The said event would not be that successful if not for the big LED monitor provided under the committee of Cong.  Jake Balanay and of our very own ICI President, Mr. Ladislao Tabanao Jr., for the computers and accessories.

The 6-day ICCF ended at Robinson’s Iligan on November 26, 2017. Councilors Demosthenes Plando, Bunz Lim, and Jake Balanay graced the event.  The winners were awarded during the said event.  That was a huge success.  Congratulations to all the winners, job well done to all the participants.

New Faces of ICI-Iligan Ping 2K18

L to R: Angelic, Dina, Rosemalyn, Ava, Gina, Kim, Hazel

Reach for the higher ground, every day, in every decision. Big and small, our choices add up to the new life we live. Be someone who encourages and uplifts. Share your story. Trust in what you feel. Follow your heart. Live the dream in you. Then you inspire someone else to live on their higher ground.

For this year, we encourage the students of ICI to share their story with PING, the ICI Official Publication.  But before we published it we let them know and have a permission to post in our page to the Humans of ICI, then we post them in the PING Bulletin Board. PING also covers ICI-related events and makes write-ups both News and Features. For the students, PING Publication is our venue where we can share our aspirations, inspirations, or even our efforts and struggles in school life.  Ping hears and publishes your stories.

Being chosen as one of the PING in this school, it is such a wonderful privilege and honour together with my Co-Pingsters enticing this Organization. For our PING Adviser, Ma’am Bevs Kintanar thank you for inviting us to be part of the PING Publication, but then we are so thankful and we would like to express our gratitude for helping and supporting us.  You always inspire us and patiently waiting, you never leave unfulfilled on us, that’s how we feel your love for us. We love you Ma’am Bevs Kintanar.  With my gorgeous Co-Pingsters they are: Gina Archibal (Senior Ping Member), Rose Malyn Migabon, Kimberly Sator, Dina Aser, Angelic Coraza, Hazel Laurente, and yours truly Ava Buitoni Chiong. Hope you enjoy reading.

ICI-Iligan Champions Danztrack Competition

       ICI-Iligan Danztrack champs with friends

“ What does it take to be a champion? Desire, dedication, determination, concentration and the will to win”

Iligan Computer Institute brought home the bacon for being the champion in DANZTRACK HANGOVER 16 Teachers’ category held at the   MSU-IIT Gymnasium in celebration with the Diyandi Festival. They also got the minor award Best in Costume for the teachers category. This was held last September 23, 2017.

Motivated with ICI’s AVP, Jerrum M. Suaring, a dancer himself; and with the inclusions of the newly hired young, energetic, active teachers, ICI confidently enlisted the newly formed performers. They reap what they sow in practicing for a month – blocking, memorizing, synchronizing, coordinating and perfecting until the D day.  They are hopeful and determined despite of limited resources; but it paved its way as “The Champions”.  It was the first time ICI joined the contest, and they got the victory.  The school is definitely proud of them.
